Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Children of Indians residing in Nepal will be eligible for this scholarship scheme on fulfillment of following criteria:
    1. Both the parents should be registered in the Indian Mission/Post in Nepal for a minimum period of two years;
    2. The applicant has completed at least two years of schooling of classes XI & XII in Nepal prior to applying for the scholarship.
  2. Age of the applicant must be 17 to 21 years (as on 31st July of the current year).
  3. The candidates must have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or equivalent grades in aggregate of all the subjects in the qualifying
  4. The candidates must have secured admission in a designated undergraduate course in one of the designated Institutions in India.
  5. Students of first semester/first year will be eligible to get the scholarship.
  6. The total monthly income of the parent(s) of the applicant should not exceed an amount equivalent to US Dollars Five Thousand (US $ 5000).
  7. Candidates availing scholarship / financial assistance/ any other assistance under any other Scheme sponsored and / or funded by State Government / Central Government of India shall not be eligible for assistance under this scholarship scheme.

How to Apply:

After obtaining admission in selected course in any of the designated institutes, students who fulfill the eligibility criteria may submit the online application form on the SPDC portal (http://spdcindia.gov.in) and upload the required documents on the portal itself.

Documents Required:

  1. Work permit of parents/Registration certificate of candidate and both parents,
  2. Indian Passport of candidate,
  3. All academic records (from class VII to XII),
  4. Annual Income certificate of parents, attested by the Embassy,
  5. Admission/offer letter by institute,
  6. Undertaking by institute on letterhead, countersigned by candidate.
  7. Declaration by   Parent/    Guardian    about    non-receipt   of   any    other scholarship by State Government or Central Government of India.

Please Note:

  1. Applicants are advised to familiarize themselves with the important details such as eligibility criteria, procedures, terms and conditions, application form, designated institutions & courses,  scholarship  amount etc. on SPDC Portal (http://spdcindia.gov.in)
  2. Only online application forms will be accepted.
  3. The Embassy of India entertains applications directly from the applicant himself/herself The Embassy does not recognize or receive applications through any so called Education Consultants/Middlemen/Agencies in Nepal. Students are advised to beware of such unscrupulous persons/agencies. Applications found to have been received through such agencies/persons are liable to be rejected.
