PPO Dharan
BRIEF
1. Pension Paying Office, Dharan is located at the foothills of the Mahabharata Range in Eastern Nepal. It started as a Seasonal Pension Paying Camp (SPPC) in Dhankuta in 1959 to address the aspirations & needs of GoI pensioners residing in Eastern Nepal. The office moved to Dharan as a permanent PPO in 1968. The inaugurations of new building and MI Room was carried out in 1997.
2. The primary function of this establishment is to disburse correct & timely pension and other post retirement monetary entitlements to the GoI pensioners. The PPO has a multifaceted character. It assists the Welfare Branch in distributing various welfare grants, recommending welfare projects & monitoring of approved projects. The PPO assists Record Office, Kathmandu by initiating cases relating to non-effective documentations, endorsement of family pension, AGIF claims, paying FSA, maintenance grants and in investigating family pension claims. PPO Dharan also caters to the medical needs of the serving personnel & their dependents through MI Room and Military & Assam Rifles pensioners & their dependents through ECHS Polyclinic. Promoting goodwill of the GoI by virtue of its presence & confluence is an inherent responsibility. For doorstep delivery of services rendered by PPO, it conducts Seasonal Camps & Documentation rallies in remote districts of East Nepal.
3. PPO Dharan has established itself as a premier establishment representing GoI in East Nepal. It is a symbol of concern of the GoI for citizens of East Nepal & its dedicated works for the welfare &upliftment of the BhuPuus since 1958 stands testimony to the same. The PPO continues to put in sustained efforts to provide services to the pensioners who served the GoI with unparalleled loyalty & selflessness. Goal of Pension Paying Office, Dharan is to continue its commitment & effort to ensure high satisfaction level amongst the BhuPuus & their dependents proactively.
