ICCR in Nepal (Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center)
Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), Embassy of India, Kathmandu, is an institution aimed at sharing with people of Nepal the diversity and the spirit of the Indian culture. In order to promote awareness of India’s composite cultural heritage and to strengthen the existing cultural ties between our two countries SVCC-K was established in 2008. It is among many such Centres and sub-Centres worldwide which are run by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
In addition, SVCC-K organizes several programmes year round by inviting seminal musicians, dancers, and artistes from India and also by inviting artistes and cultural personalities from Nepal. The SVCC-K has been keenly functioning joining hands with local Nepali organizations to promote Indian art and culture.
Presently classes are being conducted by proficient India-based Teachers in Yoga, Tabla, Bharatnatyam Dance and Hindustani Vocal Music at a nominal monthly fee of NRs. 400.
