General Instructions for Scholarship Schemes
- The information on various scholarship schemes, eligibility criteria etc. is available on website of Embassy of India (www.indembkathmandu.gov.in). This information is of general nature. The Embassy notifies eligibility criteria / selection process vide „'Embassy Notice' separately in its Website and social media handles and Consulate General of India, Birgunj and also through Notice Boards at the time of opening of particular scholarship scheme. Interested candidates may monitor the 'what's' new tab in 'Education Wing' column of website of Embassy of India, Kathmandu, for latest notifications for more specific and latest information.
- The Candidates are advised to read instructions/guidelines, list of Institutes in particular scholarship scheme, eligibility criteria (if any) required by the institution etc. thoroughly before filling up the Application Form online/offline, as there is no scope for modification once the form is submitted and no scope of change in allotted Institute/University once allotted.
- Filing up of wrong data/information such as marks and submission of incomplete documents including recent passport size photograph as mentioned in the 'documents required' column will lead to outright rejection and cancellation of the application/candidature/scholarship. No further queries/claims in this regard will be entertained by the Embassy.
- Candidates are advised not to wait till the last date of submission of applications to avoid last minute rush. In case of online applications, if applicants fail to submit his/her applications, it will be their sole responsibility and no extension will be given for filing the applications after last date.
- Applicants must also ensure that the documents required for a scholarship scheme must be submitted in the prescribed form and format. In case the documents submitted are not in the prescribed form/format or are in-complete, the application will be rejected. No communication in this matter will be entertained.
- The candidate must submit the final mark-sheets (clearly reflecting the percentage obtained) with the applications forms of scholarship schemes. If grades are unavoidable, the marks obtained in percentages should be indicated invariably in brackets (-%). The application without final mark-sheet and mark-sheet not specifying the percentage of marks will be rejected. Only for those scholarship scheme where it is specifically mentioned that provisional mark-sheet may be submitted, the provisional mark-sheet will be accepted by the Embassy on the condition that applicant will immediately submit the final mark-sheet on receipt or in given timeline whichever is earlier. Failure of submission of final mark-sheet will result in rejection of application or cancellation of candidature as the case may be.
- Merely forwarding the application to the Embassy should not be treated as assurance of selection. Embassy informs the selected candidates via mail.
- Embassy communicates with the applicants and selected candidates through mails and phones. Applicants must ensure that the name, phone numbers, address and e-mail IDs of the applicants and their parents must be correct in the Application Form. Rather than mentioning one phone number and e-mail ID in different fields of application form, it is advisable to mention different phone numbers and e-mail IDs. The Applicants should keep the e- Mail address and Password in safe custody for future correspondence/reference as all the communications from the Embassy will be received on this E-mail only.
- Any change in address/telephone/mobile number of the candidates should be intimated to the Embassy immediately either through letter duly signed by the applicant or via mail.
- Candidates are also advised to interact solely with the Education Wing, Embassy of India, Kathmandu or Consulate General of India, Birgunj about the scholarship. In every communication with the Embassy, mention the name of scheme (you have applied for/awarded), your Name, e-mail ID and Mobile Number etc.
- Application fee once deposited will not be refunded or adjusted.
- The candidates could not reject/withdraw the admission under scholarship at later stage i.e. after placement in any institution in India, failing which they will be debarred for future scholarships & would also be required to refund the entire amount spent by Govt. of India.
Important Information
The Embassy of India only entertains applications directly from the applicant himself/herself. The Embassy does not recognize or receive applications through any so called Education Consultants/Middlemen/Agencies in Nepal. Students are advised to beware of such unscrupulous persons/agencies. Applications found to have been received through such agencies/persons are liable to be rejected
