Eligibility, How to apply & Documents Required

Eligibility:The applicants:

  1. i.   must have secured minimum 60% aggregate marks with at least 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics separately and 50% marks in English in the qualifying exam (equivalent to 10+2 certificate from AIU, New Delhi must be enclosed) ii.   appearing Candidates may also apply pending final declaration of their qualifying examination results equivalent to class 10+2 standard of CBSE. Acceptance of applications of such students will, however, depend upon their being able to obtain required percentage of marks and submission of Class XII Mark sheet. iii.   For B. Architecture Course, applicants are required to pass the Aptitude Test also as prescribed by the Council of Architecture. The candidates who do not pass the Aptitude Test will not be eligible for award of enrollment by the Council of Architecture, New Delhi. iv.  For
B. Pharmacy course, applicants must have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate marks with at least 60% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology) separately and 50% in English in the qualifying examination (equivalent to 10+2 standard of CBSE in India - equivalence certificate from AIU, New Delhi must be enclosed). How to apply:

Separate application form should be submitted for each course. The applicants may download the application form from the website of Embassy of India (www.indembkathmandu.gov.in). The form must be duly filled in (preferably typed). Form with incomplete/incorrect information or not supported by the requisite documents will be rejected.

Documents Required:

Following documents (4 Copies - notary attested) are to be attached with the application form:
(a)  Application form, duly filled  in,  with  candidate's  recent  photograph  pasted at prescribed place in all the four copies
(b)  First four pages of the passport.
(c)  Citizenship certificate with its translation in English;
(d)  Birth Certificate and its translation in English;
(e)  Character Certificate from the Head of Institution last attended;
(f)  Conversion of marks in percentage (%) from the Principal/Head of Institution last attended in a tabular format.
(g)  Certificates and Mark Sheets with percentage of marks of the qualifying examination i.e. 10+2 (A certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi that the candidate's qualifying examination is equivalent to 10+2 standard of CBSE in India for the purpose of admission to B.E./B.Tech/B.Pharmacy/B.Arch must be enclosed).
(h)  Proof of financial capacity.

Please Note:

1.  All the four copies of the application form must be ink-signed. The recent passport size photo (original not photocopied) of the applicant must be pasted at the given space on all the four copies. The application forms with xerox of signature and/or photo will be rejected. Only those applications that are complete in all respects and applicants are meeting the requisite eligibility criteria will be processed further.
2.  Shortlisted candidates are expected to comply with admission formalities, fee structures and procedures of the respective colleges/universities. These may include specific medical examinations including AIDS test in India.
3.  The list of colleges of respective courses are enclosed at Annexures along with application form. The seats are generally allocated in these Colleges/ Institutes but may vary depending on final allocation of the seats.  The applicants must give due care while giving preferences for the Colleges/ Institutes as no request will be entertained with respect to change of College/ Institute once allotted.
4.  The seats under this scheme are on Self-Financing Basis and the Ministry/Embassy or Government of India does not provide any financial aid/scholarships/concession to Foreign students selected under these schemes. No request for any financial support to pursue the course will be entertained.
5.  The Association of Indian Universities does not recognize  the  “Physical Science” equivalent to Physics & Chemistry.  Such  candidates  may  furnish separate marks  for  Physics  &  Chemistry  failing  which  their  applications  will not be entertained at the time of application submission.
6.  Applicants are advised to familiarize themselves with the procedures and fee etc. for obtaining the Equivalence Certificate from Association of Indian Universities    (AIU)    by    visiting    their    website    at https://www.aiu.ac.in/Evaluation/evaluation.php
7.  Foreign students having PIO, OCI card and NRIs are not eligible to apply for these courses under Self Financing Schemes.
8.  Applicants  must ensure that percentage of marks mentioned in the application form are clearly indicated as such and not given in grades like A, B, C, D, E, etc. If grades are unavoidable, the marks obtained  in  percentages should be indicated invariably in brackets (-%). The application without mentioning the percentage of marks will be rejected.
9.  The Embassy of India entertains applications directly from the applicant himself/herself only. The Embassy does not recognize or receive applications through any so called Education Consultants/Middlemen/Agencies in Nepal. Students are advised to beware of such unscrupulous persons/agencies. Applications found to have been received through such agencies/persons are liable to be rejected.

How to submit applications:

The applicants should submit their application forms (complete in all respect along with supporting documents) at Education Wing, Embassy of India, Kathmandu on or before last date of submission of application form. Applicants should carry all original documents at the time of submission of application form and he/she should be accompanied by either parent (father/ mother) or guardian [duly authorized and declared as guardian by the parent(s)] to sign the requisite undertaking.
