Foundation Stone laying for construction of Cold Store in Nawalparasi District

 The Foundation Stone for the construction of a cold store in Madhyabindu Municipality, Ward No. 2 of the Nawalparasi District in Gandaki Province of Nepal, was jointly laid today by Ms. Nisha, First Secretary, Embassy of India, Kathmandu, and Mr. Bhim Lal Adhikari, Mayor, Madhyabindu Municipality.

2. The cold store building is being built with Government of India’s assistance of about Nepali Rupees 4.41 crore. This High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP), will be implemented through the Madhyabindu Municipality, and will be the 4th HICDP to be undertaken in Nawalparasi district of Nepal

3. The Mayor of Madhyabindu Municipality, Nawalparasi and other stakeholders appreciated the developmental support being provided by the Government of India, and expressed confidence that the new facility would help enhance agricultural activities in the Madhyabindu Municipality.   

4. As close neighbours, India and Nepal are engaged in wide-ranging and multi-sectoral cooperation. The implementation of HICDPs reflects the strong partnership of the Government of India with the Government of Nepal in supporting growth and development, apart from augmenting infrastructure in priority sectors.
