Inauguration of High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) in Baitadi, Sudurpaschim Province, Nepal
The School Building of Shree Bhumeshwor Secondary School, Patan Municipality-4, Baitadi, Sudurpaschim Province, built with Government of India’s financial assistance was jointly inaugurated today by Mr. Narayan Singh, First Secretary, Embassy of India in Kathmandu, and Mr. Gauri Singh Rawal, Mayor, Patan Municipality.
2. The construction of the school building and allied facilities was undertaken as a High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP), which was implemented through Patan Municipality, Baitadi
3. Shree Bhumeshwor Secondary School, Patan Municipality-4 was established in 1951 A.D. The Government upgraded the school to 10+2 level in the year 2011. Currently, 300 students are enrolled in the school.
4. Mayor, Patan Municipality, the School Management and other stakeholders appreciated the development support being provided by the Government of India. They conveyed that the new infrastructure would help further enhance the educational infrastructure in the region.
5. As close neighbours, India and Nepal are engaged in wide-ranging and multi-sectoral cooperation. The implementation of HICDPs reflects the continued support of the Government of India in bolstering the developmental efforts of the Government of Nepal, including augmenting infrastructure in priority sectors at the grassroots level.
