Inauguration of High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) in Udayapur, Koshi Province, Nepal

        The School Building of Bal Mandir Secondary School, Triyuga Municipality, Gaighat, Koshi Province, built with Government of India’s financial assistance was jointly inaugurated today by Mr. Basant Kumar Basnet, Mayor, Triyuga Municipality, Koshi Province and Ms. Garima Nautiyal, Second Secretary in the Embassy of India in Kathmandu.

2.    The construction of the school building and allied facilities was undertaken as a High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP), which was implemented through the Triyuga Municipality, Udayapur. 

3.    Shree Bal Mandir Secondary School was established in 1988 in Udayapur District, and provides education from pre-primary to secondary level. 

4.    Mayor, Triyuga Municipality, School Management and other stakeholders appreciated the development support being provided by the Government of India. They conveyed that the new infrastructure would help strengthen the education sector in the region.  

5.    As close neighbours, India and Nepal are engaged in wide-ranging and multi-sectoral cooperation. The implementation of HICDPs reflects the continued support of the Government of India in bolstering the developmental efforts of the Government of Nepal, apart from augmenting infrastructure in priority sectors at the grassroots level.
