Inauguration of two HICDPs-School Buildings of Shree Durga Secondary School and Shree Navadurga Secondary School in Dadeldhura District, Nepal

The School Building of Shree  Durga Secondary School, Aalital Rural Municipality, Dadeldhura, built with Government of India’s financial assistance at the project cost of NRs.23.80 million under ‘Nepal-India Development Cooperation’ was  formally inaugurated on  4th September 2024 by Shri Naveen Srivastava, H.E. Ambassador of India to Nepal,  jointly with Mr. Gagan Singh Bhandari, Chief, District Coordination Committee  and Mr. Sher Singh Parki, Chairman, Aalital Rural Municipality, Dadeldhura. Further, School Building of Shree  Navadurga Secondary School, Navadurga Rural Municipality, Dadeldhura, built with Government of India’s financial assistance at the project cost of NRs.21.30 million was  also formally inaugurated today by Shri Naveen Srivastava, H.E. Ambassador of India to Nepal,  jointly with Mr. Gagan Singh Bhandari, Chief, District Coordination Committee  and Mr. Laxmi Prasad Awasthi, Chairman, Navaduraga Rural Municipality, Dadeldhura. Political representatives, government officials, social workers, representatives of the school management, teachers, parents and students were also present on these occasions.

2.    The Government of India grant under ‘Nepal-India Development Cooperation’ was utilized for the construction of school buildings for Shree  Durga Secondary School  and Shree  Navadurga Secondary School  with other facilities. These  projects were taken up as a High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP), under an Agreement between Government of India and Government of Nepal. These projects were  implemented through District Coordination Committee, Dadeldhura. 

3.    Shri Naveen Srivastava, H.E. Ambassador of India to Nepal has highlighted that the projects are an important example of the very robust development partnership between India and Nepal, which has made significant progress  in the recent years, spanning various priority sectors of the Government of Nepal and its people. Ambassador expressed continued commitment of the Government of India to continue to bolster the development partnership as per the priorities of Government of Nepal, for the benefit of the peoples of both countries. 

4.    Chief, District Coordination Committee,  Chairman, Aalital Rural Municipality, Chairman, Nawadurga Rural Municipality and Political representatives in their remarks appreciated the continued developmental support of the Government of India in upliftment of the people of Nepal in priority sectors.      

5.     Shree Durga Secondary School was established in 1970 as Primary school.  Subsequently, it was upgraded to lower secondary and then secondary level. Currently, the school runs classes from Early Childhood Development (ECD) to 12th standard and total numbers of students are around 700 in which 57% of whom are girls. Also, Shree Navadurga Secondary School was established in 1959 as Primary school. Subsequently, it was upgraded to lower secondary and then secondary level. This school is one of the oldest in this district. Currently, the school runs Class 1 to 10th standard and total numbers of students are around 300 in which 60% of whom are girls. 


6.    As close neighbours, India and Nepal share wide-ranging and multi-sectoral cooperation.  The implementation of HICDPs reflects the continued support of the Government of India in bolstering the efforts of the Government of Nepal in upliftment of its people, augmenting infrastructure in the field of priority sectors.
