Course: MBBS/BDS; BE/B.Tech; BA/BSc/Other three years under-graduate courses

Eligibility: Applicant:

  1. must be between 17 to 22 years of age as on 1st July of current year
  2. must be a regular Undergraduate student of 1st Year in any recognized educational institute of Nepal
  3. must have secured at least 70% aggregate marks at the Intermediate Level (Class 12th / Plus Two).
  4. family income of the candidate must be less than 2,00,000/- per annum.
  5. must not be receiving scholarship from any other source.

How to apply: Applicants meeting the eligibility criteria may submit online application on the portal ww.indembkathmandu.gov.in/goischolarship along with the requisite documents. The  portal  will  be  activated  at  the  time  of opening of scheme only.

Documents  Required:-

  1. Passport size photo to be uploaded with form.
  2. Duly notarized Citizenship certificate of self/parents;
  3. Mark sheet of class 12th.
  4. Duly attested letter from Principal/ Head of the School/Institute certifying that the applicant is studying in graduate/degree course.
  5. Income Proof certificate issued by LDO/CDO etc.
  6. In respect of physically challenged applicants, certificate/proof issued by CDO/LDO/Municipality Head in this regard. 

Scholarship Amount and Duration:

The selected candidates will get a scholarship of NRs. 4,000/- per month for pursuing MBBS/BDS (for five years) and B.E./B.Tech (for four years) and NRs. 3000/- per month for pursuing other three years under-graduate programmes. The scholarship will continue in the second and subsequent years only on submission of copy of each year's passed mark-sheet along with present status (certificate) of his/her promotion to and study in next year/semester of the opted course at Undergraduate Level (duly authenticated by Principal/Head of Institute). The candidates may submit their documents latest by December every year either physically at Education Wing of the Embassy of India, Kathmandu either personally or via email: attacheedu.kathmandu@mea.gov.in failing which the scholarship will be terminated.

Please Note:

  1. Students who have enrolled in Diploma courses are not eligible for this scholarship.
  2. While submitting the documents or communicating with the Embassy, student must provide complete details i.e. name of the student, Date of Birth, name of scholarship scheme, year in which scholarship awarded, present class, name of institute etc.
  3. The Embassy of India entertains applications directly from the applicant himself/herself The Embassy does not recognize or receive applications through any so called Education Consultants/Middlemen/Agencies in Nepal. Students are advised to beware of such unscrupulous persons/agencies. Applications found to have been received through such agencies/persons are liable to be rejected.
