Eligibility, How to apply, Documents Required & Selection Process

Eligibility:

  1. The minimum age required to apply for this scholarship scheme is 16 years and the maximum age to apply is 23 years. Crucial date for determining the age limit is 1st July of current year.
  2. Applicant must have i.) for BE/B.Tech 60% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Class XII (10+2) and at least 60% marks in each subject i.e. Physics (P), Chemistry (C) and Mathematics (M) in Class XII or equivalent to 10+2 CBSE standard in India. (Note: Class XI marks not to be included) ii.) for B.Sc. (Food Technology), B. Pharmacy, B.Sc. (Agriculture) and B.Sc. (Nursing) 60% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Class XII (10+2) and at least 55% marks in each subject i.e. Physics (P), Chemistry (C) and Biology (B) in Class XII or equivalent to 10+2 CBSE standard in India. How to apply:

Candidates can submit application through the link given in the notification issued at the time of launch of COMPEX Scheme.

Documents Required:

Following documents are required to be uploaded with Online Application Form:

  1. Mark Sheet of 10+2,
  2. Character Certificate
  3. Citizenship Certificate with English Translation
  4. Relevant pages of Passport
  5. SBI Bank Voucher NPR. 400 (four hundred only).
Selection Process:

  1. Selection will be based on a qualifying /competitive Test/ Examination conducted by the Embassy of India. The link for downloading the Admit card will be sent to all eligible candidates on their respective registered e-mail ID mentioned in the online application.
  2. Nomination of a name by the Embassy does not guarantee admission to any Indian colleges/ universities for the above courses. Confirmation of admission by the Embassy will be given only after receipt of the same from the concerned Indian University/Institution.
  3. Candidates who have already passed class XII or equivalent to 10+2 CBSE standard in India or appearing in 10+2/12th standard Examination during the year of exam may also apply in anticipation of their results. Their selection will, however, depend on fulfilling the eligibility criteria. Results of class XII examination should be made available to the Embassy within three days after publication of the results failing which the candidature is likely to be cancelled at any stage of selection process.
  4. Candidates must submit the equivalence certificate from Association of Indian Universities (AIU) New Delhi at the time of admission.

  1. Candidates are advised  to  read  instructions  carefully  before  submitting online application and must also follow all the instructions given on main instruction page of website of the Embassy www.indembkathmandu.gov.in
  2. Candidates should take utmost care to furnish the correct details  while filling in online application. Any mistake committed by the candidate shall be his/her sole responsibility. Once the application is submitted (Step-I), no Change /edit will be allowed thereafter.
  3. Candidates can apply for a maximum of any two courses only, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
  4. Candidates should have a valid personal e-mail ID and Mobile number. It should be kept active during the entire period of examination process till placement.
  5. Candidates  applying  for  BE/B.Tech  course  must  ensure  that  three  streams in order of their preference, out of given streams (pop-up fields only), may be chosen. Request to change of streams  may  not  be  considered  at  later  stage (once the online form is filled).
  6. Candidates have to choose four Institutes as provided  in  the  online application form in order of his/her preference, out of given Institutes (pop-up field only). Request to change the Institute will not be considered at later stage (once the online form is filled).
  7. Candidates opting the institutes such as NITs, IITs and IIITs from the list of institutes provided with the notification at the time  of opening the scheme must  have qualified in JEE (Main) & JEE (Advance) examination (as required by the Institute) in addition to final selection in COMPEX Scholarship Scheme.

The Embassy of India entertains applications directly from the applicant himself/herself only. The Embassy does not recognize or receive applications through any so called Education Consultants/Middlemen/Agencies in Nepal. Students are advised to beware of such unscrupulous persons/agencies. Applications found to have been received through such agencies/persons are liable to be rejected.
