Eligibility Criteria:
- Children of Indians residing in Nepal will be eligible for this scholarship scheme on fulfillment of following criteria:
- Both the parents should be registered in the Indian Mission/Post in Nepal for a minimum period of two years;
- The applicant has completed at least two years of schooling of classes XI & XII in Nepal prior to applying for the scholarship.
- Age of the applicant must be 17 to 21 years (as on 31st July of the current year).
- The candidates must have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or equivalent grades in aggregate of all the subjects in the qualifying
- The candidates must have secured admission in a designated undergraduate course in one of the designated Institutions in India.
- Students of first semester/first year will be eligible to get the scholarship.
- The total monthly income of the parent(s) of the applicant should not exceed an amount equivalent to US Dollars Five Thousand (US $ 5000).
- Candidates availing scholarship / financial assistance/ any other assistance under any other Scheme sponsored and / or funded by State Government / Central Government of India shall not be eligible for assistance under this scholarship scheme.
How to Apply:
After obtaining admission in selected course in any of the designated institutes, students who fulfill the eligibility criteria may submit the online application form on the SPDC portal (http://spdcindia.gov.in) and upload the required documents on the portal itself.
Documents Required:
- Work permit of parents/Registration certificate of candidate and both parents,
- Indian Passport of candidate,
- All academic records (from class VII to XII),
- Annual Income certificate of parents, attested by the Embassy,
- Admission/offer letter by institute,
- Undertaking by institute on letterhead, countersigned by candidate.
- Declaration by Parent/ Guardian about non-receipt of any other scholarship by State Government or Central Government of India.

- Only online application forms will be accepted.
- The Embassy of India entertains applications directly from the applicant himself/herself The Embassy does not recognize or receive applications through any so called Education Consultants/Middlemen/Agencies in Nepal. Students are advised to beware of such unscrupulous persons/agencies. Applications found to have been received through such agencies/persons are liable to be rejected.
