Eligibility, How to apply & Documents Required
Eligibility:
- Applicants: must be a regular student of Class 11th in any recognized educational institute of Nepal.
- Should have secured at least 60% aggregate marks at the High School (Class 10th) level.
- Should be a citizen of Nepal
- Family income of the applicant must be less than NRs. 2,00,000/- per annum.
- Must not be receiving scholarship from any other source.
- Passport size photo to be uploaded with form;
- Duly notarized Citizenship certificate of self/parents;
- Mark sheet of class 10th;
- Duly attested letter from Principal/ Head of the School/Institute certifying that the applicant is studying in Class 11th
- Income Proof issued by LDO/CDO etc.
- In respect of physically challenged applicants, certificate/proof issued by CDO/LDO/Municipality Head in this regard
Scholarship Amount and Duration
The selected candidates will get a scholarship of NRs. 2,000/- per month. The scholarship will continue in the second year only on submission of copy of class 11th mark-sheet along with present status (certificate) of promotion to and study in Class 12th, duly authenticated by the Principal/ Head of Institute. The awardees who could not pass class 11th will not be entitled for scholarship amount for 2nd year. The candidates should submit their documents latest by November 30 of each year either physically at Education Wing of the Embassy of India, Kathmandu or via e-mail at mail ID attacheedu.kathmandu@mea.gov. in failing which the scholarship will be terminated.
Please Note
1. Before filling up the Application Form online, the Candidates are advised to read instructions/guidelines thoroughly, as there is no scope for modification in online system once the form is submitted.
2. Print out of the application and other documents are not required to be submitted.
3. While submitting the documents or communicating with the Embassy, student must provide complete details i.e. name of the student, Date of Birth, name of scholarship scheme, year in which scholarship awarded, present class, name of institute etc.
4. The Embassy of India entertains applications directly from the applicant himself/herself only. The Embassy does not recognize or receive applications through any so called Education Consultants/Middlemen/Agencies in Nepal. Students are advised to beware of such unscrupulous persons/agencies. Applications found to have been received through such agencies/persons are liable to be rejected.
