Eligibility & Mode of submission of applications
Eligibility: The applicant:
(i) must have passed the previous class and should not be an appearing candidate (for example applicant who wishes to apply for class 6 must have passed class 5 at the time of submitting the application)
(ii) must have good proficiency in English
(iii) must be medically fit
(iv) must fulfill the following age criteria as on 31st March of the year of enrollment in school

Mode of submission of applications: Offline
Documents Required & Selection Process
Documents Required (to be submitted along with duly filled in application form at the Embassy of India, Kathmandu):
- Complete bio-data of student in English language with one photo (to be pasted on Form).
- Notary Public attested photocopy of birth certificate issued by the concerned Authority (municipality, etc).
- Notary Public attested final mark sheet of previous class passed (in order to apply for class 6, submission of final mark sheet of class 5 and vice versa),
- Character Certificate and certificate (in original) from the Principal of the school of the candidate clearly mentioning the class in which he/she is studying.
- Medical Certificate (to be issued by registered medical practitioner),
- Notary Public attested photocopy of Citizenship Certificate of both parents with English Translation.
- A certificate from Headmaster/Principal of the school (last attended) stating that the student has passed last class from Government or Private school (as the case may be) and certification about his/her proficiency in English
- The original counterfoil of Bank Voucher of NRs. 400 (four hundred) deposited in account of Indian Embassy, Kathmandu (Account number 17725240200331), Nepal SBI Bank Ltd.
How to submit application: The eligible candidates may submit their applications (complete in all respect) through post / courier or personally at the Embassy of India, Kathmandu on or before last date of submission of application form.
Selection Process: After submission of duly completed application form along with requisite documents in prescribed format, shortlisted candidates are informed via mail about date, time and venue of written test and interview. Only those candidates who appear in written exam plus interview and secure minimum 50% marks are considered for final selection for the scholarship.
Please note:
- Applications that are incomplete/incorrect or are not supported with the required documents in given format will be rejected.
- Application of appearing candidates or candidates not meeting age criteria etc. will be rejected.
- The Embassy of India entertains applications directly from the applicant himself/herself only. The Embassy does not recognize or receive applications through any so called Education Consultants/Middlemen/Agencies in Nepal. Students are advised to beware of such unscrupulous persons/agencies. Applications found to have been received through such agencies/persons are liable to be rejected
